Engaging in the practice of Mindfulness meditation is a process for training our minds to be more present with what is happening here and now.  As we cultivate, refine and deepen our capacity to pay attention and dwell in present-moment awareness we re-discover a sense of peace and stillness. Engaging in this practice awakens relaxation of mind and body, reduces stress and nourishes us on a deep level. This creates space for healing of mind, body and spirit.

Mindfulness training:
Julia teaches Mindfulness-Based Stillness Meditation to individuals and group classes.
She also offers Mindfulness meditation sessions for small groups, work teams and community groups and periodically runs public workshops in Melbourne, regional centres and interstate.

Meditation also assists with pain management and is integrated into individual sessions when required. Also Julia sometimes uses simple meditation techniques to enhance learning within a Feldenkrais lesson.

In Awareness Through Movement classes, David & Julia both intentionally weave mindfulness strategies into the fabric of their classes and Julia has developed lesson series where Feldenkrais and Mindfulness are more overtly interwoven.

David and Julia occasionally present weekend workshops bringing Feldenkrais and meditation together. People have found these ‘retreats’ especially valuable as the two approaches engage attention in both movement and stillness, are mutually supportive and enrich one’s quality of experience in both domains.

Mindfulness-Based Stillness Meditation

Weekly Mindfulness class at the Abbotsford Convent

Wednesday evenings: 6.00pm - 7.30pm
Starting Wednesday 13th May 2015 

This program of meditation is designed to assist people to learn Mindfulness if they are new to meditation. It is also for people familiar with the practice, who enjoy meditating with others and wish to develop their meditation in a supportive space. While there will be explanation, guidance and discussion, the emphasis in the sessions will be on practice.
